Writing & Originality Policy
How student articles are evaluated, paid and protected — and how to use AI tools honestly.
Writing & Originality Policy
1. Original work only. Everything you submit must be written by you, from your own research, understanding and analysis. Discussing the same topic as another article is allowed. Reusing its sentences, structure, examples, introduction or conclusion is not — even if you change the words.
2. Plagiarism is prohibited. Plagiarism includes copying or closely paraphrasing any text without proper quotation and attribution — from Justify.pk, websites, books, journals, judgments, other students or AI tools. Rewording, re-ordering, using synonym or "article spinner" tools, translating, or combining several sources without substantial original analysis is still plagiarism.
3. Self-plagiarism is prohibited. You may not resubmit, in whole or in part, an article you have already published on Justify.pk or elsewhere, or one that was rejected — unless you are revising it through the "Returned for revision" option.
4. Quotations and citations. Short quotations from statutes, the Constitution and judgments are welcome when placed in quotation marks and cited (e.g. Section 489-F, Pakistan Penal Code). Quoted material is not counted as your original contribution and should normally be under one-third of the article. Cite real Pakistani legislation and case law wherever relevant. Never invent a statute, section, case name or citation — fabricated authorities are treated as serious misconduct.
5. Use of AI tools. See the AI Usage Policy below. You remain fully responsible for every sentence and citation you submit.
6. Length and form. 1,500–3,500 words of main text, a clear title, short section headings, paragraphs, and a conclusion.
7. How articles are evaluated. Every submission is checked for originality against Justify.pk's library and other sources, then evaluated on: Originality (40%), Legal Accuracy & Pakistani Law Citations (25%), Depth, Analysis & Practical Value (20%), Structure & Clarity (10%) and Completeness (5%). Copied or closely paraphrased material earns no marks under any criterion. Some articles are reviewed by our editors before a decision, and published articles may be re-checked at any time.
8. Passing score. The minimum score for publication is 55/100. Published articles carry your name and appear on your public student profile. Justify.pk does not currently pay for articles.
9. Earlier balances. If you earned money under the previous article-reward programme, you can still withdraw it from your Dashboard once it reaches the minimum, to an account in your own name.
10. Revisions and review. An article below 55 may be revised and resubmitted up to 2 times. An article held for editorial review is usually decided within 3 working days. You may request a one-time re-review by emailing admin@justify.pk within 7 days of a decision.
11. Rejection. Articles may be rejected for low quality, legal inaccuracy, fabricated authorities, plagiarism, or attempts to manipulate the evaluation (including hidden text, unusual characters, or instructions addressed to the evaluation system). An article that was published automatically may later be unpublished by an editor; you will be emailed the reason, and its earning is reversed.
12. Consequences of plagiarism.
- First confirmed case: rejection and a written warning.
- Second: earnings frozen and no new submissions for 30 days.
- Third: writing access permanently withdrawn.
Earnings from any article later found to be plagiarised are reversed, including by deduction from future earnings. Serious or repeated cases may be reported to your institution.
AI Usage Policy
Justify.pk does not ban AI tools. We judge your work on originality and accuracy — never on an "AI detector" score.
Allowed (no disclosure needed): grammar, spelling and language correction; translating your own draft for your own understanding.
Allowed (please disclose): brainstorming topics and questions; suggesting an outline; explaining a legal concept so you can research it; improving the clarity of paragraphs you wrote.
Not allowed:
- Submitting AI-generated text as your own scholarship without substantial independent work.
- Copying AI output without checking every legal statement against the actual statute or judgment.
- Including any citation an AI suggested that you have not personally verified — AI tools often invent Pakistani case citations.
- Using AI to rewrite, paraphrase or translate existing articles (including Justify.pk articles) to avoid detection.
- Using AI to hide copied text.
Disclosure: when submitting, choose one option — No · Only for grammar / language · For research ideas or an outline · Substantial help writing the text. Disclosure itself never lowers your score. Generic text without real analysis scores low on originality and depth, whoever or whatever wrote it. Undisclosed substantial AI use discovered later may be treated as a policy breach.
